Wechsel zu neuem Webhoster / change

Servus Racing-Gemeinde,

SiGi

Hello racing community,

My long-time web host, Host Europe, quietly and without notice, throttled the server performance for my web package so drastically during a migration at the beginning of September that it’s apparently no longer sufficient for the site to load properly.

Therefore, I’ve now decided to switch to a new web hoster. I’ll probably complete the migration in November – this may result in downtime/unavailability of the website due to the complex nature of the process.

The site will definitely go back online and hopefully function normally again – so don’t panic 😉

Regards

SiGi

Hey, SiGi, Simwiki.net has been experiencing DDOS-like traffic and I have tools to watch logs and firewall block problematic traffic. It’s the only thing that has kept Simwiki fast for months now. Come join us on Simwiki Discord and I might be able to help you out. I’m @shovas.

    1. Hello sovas and thank you all for the feedback.

The problem with the slow loading time isn’t DDoS attacks, but rather that my long-time provider, with whom I’ve been a customer since 2007, simply throttled the server performance without informing me – this is absolutely unacceptable, so I will be canceling my contract with them as soon as possible.

I’ve already obtained a new web hosting package from my new provider, where the download server is also hosted. I just need to release the domain and then transfer it to the new provider.

eSR runs on the WordPress CMS. For the transfer, I’m using the “Duplicator” plugin, which supposedly makes migrating a WordPress installation easy – however, I’ve never done this before, so I can’t say how it will go yet. Therefore, please don’t be surprised if the website is offline for a few days.

I haven’t had much time to take care of the site in recent years, but I will still make the time to get everything up and running again.

      Greetings

      SiGi
