Lotus Evora GTE v1.8

During the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, Lotus announced the Evora Enduro GT concept, as a follow up to the Type 124 and GT4 race cars. Lotus is aiming for this car to enter into the LM GTE category by mid-2011, with a 444 hp (331 kW; 450 PS) Toyota-supplied V8.

Lotus entered two Evoras at the 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans, which were run by the Jetalliance Racing team. Despite overheating issues during practice and qualifying, car #65 finished 22nd overall, completing 295 laps, whilst car #64 retired after 126 laps.

In 2012, Jetalliance Racing failed to negotiate a deal to run the cars in Europe; instead, Alex Job Racing chose to run a LM GTE in the American Le Mans Series. Alex Job Racing did not get a good outcome from this however, and the car was later replaced by a Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 as the main race car for the team.

Version 1.8 (October 2017) :

since the internal cockpit of this car was not the best (partly simple textures for dash etc.), i decided to add / convert a new, more realistc one from the Lotus Evora GTC from Assetto Corsa. i made all adjustments like texture mapping, reworking textures, changing material names, splitting parts in order to be able to better deal with them, removing / cutting unneeded parts for better frames / ingame performance and so on…i also created cockpit banners, mirrors and added a new, matching MoTeC Display created by Scorpyo.

further revisions :

– reworked cockpit chassis
– added rainscreen
– created new backfire
– reworked external mirrors (now brighter with reflection effect)
– created new shadow and collision file
– added new external steeringwheel (also from AC)
– reworked texture settings for rims
– added default tread textures for tires (slick, intermediate and rain)
– reworked CAS file
– added new damage file
– reworked .car files
– improved default gear settings for setup
– created / added 3 different sound files (.aud) *
– and some more i can’t remember…

* I could not really decide wich one to take since I am not really satisfied with them, that’s why i added / created 3 different .aud files :

1 – Lotus Elise – default from GTR2 with some changes
2 – Lotus Evora GTC – original sounds from AC, aud file written by me
3 – Lotus Cortina – for GTL / P&G Mod created by DucFreak with some changes

the Cortina sound is not included in this package, can be downloaded >> here <<

i recommend always to DELETE FIRST any previous versions of this car / mod to prevent crashes / mismatches !

for that, navigate into your “GTR2\GameData\Teams\GRID_GT\…” directory and delete the complete folder “Lotus Evora GTE Teams” – done.

to install, extract with WinRAR or else and drop the GameData folder into your GTR2 main-directory – allow to overwrite existing one with “YES ALL” – done.

no original GTR2 files will be overwritten.
