Daytona International Speedway is a race track in Daytona Beach, Florida, United States. Since opening in 1959, it has been the home of the Daytona 500, the most prestigious race in NASCAR. In addition to NASCAR, the track also hosts races of ARCA, AMA Superbike, USCC, SCCA, and Motocross. The track features multiple layouts including the primary 2.5-mile (4.0 km) high-speed tri-oval, a 3.56-mile (5.73 km) sports car course, a 2.95-mile (4.75 km) motorcycle course, and a 1,320-foot (400 m) karting and motorcycle flat-track.

The track’s 180-acre (73 ha) infield includes the 29-acre (12 ha) Lake Lloyd, which has hosted powerboat racing. The speedway is owned and operated by International Speedway Corporation.

– 2 Layouts (Road Course and Oval)
– Rain reflections
– Animated marshalls

What I did:

– Removed and adjusted many shadows
– Adjusted AIW’s for GTR2 including paddock area for both layouts.
– Added/fixed nightlighting.
– Adjusted object lods for many objects

Low resolution textures:

A low res texture file is included for both layouts.
As always you must select “use low resolution textures” in your advanced options.

Shadow trks:

There are two sets of trks with different shadow levels in them.
One is my default adjusted shadows and the other has even less shadows.
You may wish to try the lower shadows if you have performance issues.

Known issues:

I recommend you use rolling starts.
Due to the slope of the track, AI cars will slide down the track on standing starts for much of the grid.
There’s nothing that can be done to fix this.


There are 4 sets of lights between the chicane and the pit entrance on the outer fence.
They are the pitin lights telling you whether the pits are open or closed.


Delete any previous version you may have 1st, including hat files.
Extract directly to your GTR2gamedatalocations directory.
