to install, extract with WinRAR or else and drop the GameData folder into your GTR2 main-directory – allow to overwrite existing one with “YES ALL” – done.
No original GTR2 files will be overwritten.

how do I split the 488 in 2? I need the car splited in 2 different classes, one GT3 and one GTE. sometimes I want to race only with GT3 cars but its imposible because its shown only as 488 GTC in the menu
hello wmik21,
to assign vehicles to an individual class you must assign them to a class file (.gdb). The class files are all located in the GTR2\GameData directory.
So that you understand how this works, here is an example of the assignment of the BMW M3 GTR:
go to the team directory where the car you want to assign is located – in this case “GTR2\GameData\Teams\24H\BMW M3GTR Teams\BMW Motorsport” – now open the .car file “04142_G2_BMW_M3GTR.car” with the Windows Editor / Notepad (right mouse button on the .car file, in the menu “Open with” – select Editor).
Now scroll down to the line:
classes=”FULL, 2004, G2_2004, 24H_2004, BMW, BMW_M3, SPA_2004″ – in this line you can see which class the vehicle is assigned to.
Now go to the directory GTR2\GameData where the class files (.gdb) are located – now open the file “SIM_SingleMakes.gdb”
Here you will find the entry for the BMW M3 (BMW_M3 = BMW M3 GTR).
The best thing to do now is to create your own class in which, for example, only GT3 cars are listed – create your own GDB file for this.
The easiest way is to copy an existing one, e.g. the “SIM_GRID_GT” – rename it, e.g. to “SIM_GRID_GT3”.
open the file and delete all entries between the brackets :
Special Classes
{
delete
}
Now you enter a new class between the brackets – the name can be freely chosen but must be unique – important is the name in front of the = sign – this name must be identical to that in the CAR files. I would name the class like this:
Special Classes
{
GRID_GT3 = GRID GT3 Cars
}
now open the CAR file of the vehicle you want to drive in the GT3 class and add the class “GRID_GT3” to the line “classes=” – but note that you must enter the class name to all teams you want to have in the GT3 class.
Just take a close look at the GDB files and the classes line in the CAR files, then you should quickly understand how the assignment works in the game – you don’t need to have studied for that 😉
happy editing

Any chance of adding the Iron Dames team?
Depending on which version of their car you’re looking for, the Iron Dames car for 2020-2022 is under the Iron Lynx team (only WEC 2022 for now as I’m assuming Le Mans 2022 and ELMS 2022 skins will come at a later date, 2020 & 2021 are fully represented however) Their 2019 cars are under Kessel Racing.
hey, I don’t know if it’s just me, but some of the cars veer slighty to one side when you drive in a straight line. Do you know if there’s a way to fix it?
