Kyalami Racing Circuit (from Khaya lami, My home in Zulu) is a motor racing circuit located in Midrand, Gauteng province, South Africa. The circuit has been used for Grand Prix and Formula One races and has hosted the South African Grand Prix many times. Among the Formula One races held at the track the 1977 South African Grand Prix stands out, as it is principally remembered for the fatal accident that claimed the lives of race marshal Frederick Jansen van Vuuren and driver Tom Pryce.
In recent years, the area surrounding the circuit has developed into a residential and commercial suburb of Johannesburg. More recently, Kyalami has played host to five rounds of the Superbike World Championship from 1998 to 2002 and later in 2009 and 2010, the season finale of the Superstars Series in 2009 and 2010, and the South African round of the 2008–09 A1 Grand Prix season.

I realise the layout hasn’t changed through the 70’s years, been using various F1 cars for various years from the 70’s I thought I would do a bit more with the 75 track pack. So 75Kyalami is very similar to the earlier public release of the 70’s version, but having remade lots of textures to resemble how the track might have looked in 73-78 period, noticibly uses white barriers, I updated some parts, hence 1.5 version.
Some slight fixes I spotted I ended up redoing the pit buildings, then made and added various pit extras, retextured and reworked the road surface to look used and raced on, plus added odd tyreskids, added lots of grass clumps to track side and the catch fences now have moveable poles, rather than drop the complete fences. included the altered default specialfx.tec with added material for the moveable poles which you may need to use if you find poles dont fall. has the 70’s style car jack and air gun in the pit extras..I made for use with 75 trackpack, includes tga file for kyalami dust effect with animated marshals and rain reflections in gtr2 version and aiw contains wet path.
I know having tracks for a specific year is sometimes not a viable project, and there are already 70’s versions released, I prefer racing older classic cars and F1.. so I thought I’d share a couple of my favourite tracks still part of the 70’s era, 75Kyalami and 75Monza, for use with either P7G or GTL-GTr2 mods these work alongside the other variants as seperate tracks so you dont need the earlier versions for these to work. .both have been updated and reworked in quite a few areas…tested a few mods, found the C era 956/962 porches had difficulty with breaking from high speeds, on these 75 layouts so made alterations to the Aiw so that they should race well..?

Installation Instructions :
extract the .rar file with WinRAR or similar unpacker and drop the
track-folder into your GTR2\GameData\Locations\…directory – done.
