Monaco 1967 v1.0

Monaco 1967 for GTR2

GTR2 Conversion by RacerM

Track Infos from Wiki :

Circuit de Monaco is a street circuit laid out on the city streets of Monte Carlo and La Condamine around the harbour of the principality of Monaco. It is commonly referred to as “Monte Carlo” because it is largely inside the Monte Carlo neighbourhood of Monaco.

Monaco GP 1967

The circuit is used on two weekends in the month of May of each year to host the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix and Formula E Monaco ePrix (odd years) or Historic Grand Prix of Monaco (even years). Formula One’s respective feeder series over the years – Formula Two, Formula 3000 and today the GP2 Series – also visit the circuit concurrently with Formula One.

Virtual Track Infos :

This track was converted by me from Rfactor to GTR2 for my personal enjoyment more than a year ago. I have been working on it ever since. I had taken this project as far as it can go until Dredop came out with his version and especially his new aiw. He allowed me to use his material and combine it with mine to make this version for your consumption.

CREDITS :

Slim Jim

Original Monaco open beta track for rFactor

Culmone67

Complete texture update, that made this track look completely outstanding (See Readme)

Please look in the Extras folder and read all of the original Rfactor and GTL ReadMes by the original authors to appreciate them and the work they put into it.

Dredop

He also converted the track to GTL, heavily edited the aiw and xpits creatomg new ones from scratch so that the track could function properly in GTL and GTR2 – without him this track would still be sitting on my hard drive, special thanks to him for allowing me to convert his work to GTR2.

RacerM

I also converted the track from Rfactor as well as Culmone67’s massive texture update and brought them into GTR2.

I also :

– Reworked textures and transperancies so that they would appear properly in GTR2 and GTL
– I added dynamic shadows and shadow objects so that the track would have more visual depth
– I added crowd and horn sounds
– I added maintence vehicles and parked cars from SHIFT2 and VLM models (unfortunately without permission) to make the track more lifelike.
– I created the LODs from Rip’s template
– I combined some of the models to decrease the framerates

included Extras folder :

There is a file that says extras. This file holds a seperate trk for slower machines. To increase framerates I hav removed all of the heavy shadows along the start straight. If you decide to use it, back up the original .trk and then rename the extra trk and place it in the folder. Also there is a traditional LOD screen in the folder as well for the GTR2 version.

REMEMBER TO DISABLE THE PITCREW GRAPHICS IN THE OPTIONS MENU OR THE GANTRIES AND CAN WILL TAKE UP A THIRD OF THE ROADWAY.

AIW fix and alternative camera file by Losch :
(Monaco.1967.AIW.update.GTR2.rar)

Hi all,

first thanks to everyone involved creating this fantastic track, it’s probably the best in GTR2. However I was a little sad about the AI, it was way off the pace and crashing constantly. Now I have fixed the AIW file, especially in the Loews, Tabac and Gasometer section, reducing the crashing of AI cars significantly and making them about 2 seconds faster. I also increased the AI grip level in the GDB file – now the AI is really a challenge to race against.

extract both files in the 1967 Monaco folder

Enjoy, Losch

Installation:

just extract and place the “1967 Monaco” folder into your Locations directory.

Terms of Use :

Please do not post this work without permission from Dredop or myself.
Thanks you and enjoy.

I will add a couple more things to the track because I love it so much or maybe because I have ocd.

2 Thoughts to “Monaco 1967 v1.0”

  1. marches

There is a serious bug with this track – everytime you reach the first position after
some laps (usually after 10) you find your position increase up to the last position.
    It worths to specify this:
    – race mode, without flag regulation, without damage ON, never cutting the track

Another clue is the blinking position/next car gap that blinks after the Tabac curve
and can be clearly seen the position 1 changing to 2 and back again

Most of the times there’s a car retired by accident visible on the left of the straight
    (where the pitbox be)

I’ve de-select anything related to Pit but i still see the guy with the time board
standing there – The readme isn’t clear: what is the “PITCREW GRAPHICS” or
    “GANTRIES” for God sake????

I resolve nobody used this track otherwise some feedback should have been
    here already.

No feedback!? Tell me about it. I dunno how “many” people are actually here or playing the game at all but it seems nobody gives a damn when you ask or suggest sth. Awesome. I guess. 🙁
