The Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans, also known as Circuit de la Sarthe (after the 1906 French Grand Prix triangle circuit) located in Le Mans, Sarthe, France, is a semi-permanent motorsport race course chiefly known as the venue for the 24 Hours of Le Mans auto race. Comprising private, race-specific sections of track in addition to public roads which remain accessible most of the year, its present configuration is 13.626 kilometres (8.467 mi) long, making it one of the longest circuits in the world. Capacity of the race stadium, where the short Bugatti Circuit is situated, is 100,000. The Musée des 24 Heures du Mans is a motorsport museum located at the main entrance of the venue.

Up to 85% of the lap time is spent on full throttle, putting immense stress on engine and drivetrain components. However, the times spent reaching maximum speed also mean tremendous wear on the brakes and suspension as cars must slow from over 320 km/h (200 mph) to around 100 km/h (60 mph) for the sharp corner at the village of Mulsanne.

note :

For me, this is the best Le Mans version for GTR2 to date – very detailed and realistic with color-coordinated textures – therefore it is also very “fps hungry”. If you want to drive there with a large starter field, you should have installed the 4GB Patch and reduce the graphics settings (explicitly shadows), especially people, who own an older PC.

p.s.: I have been reworking the old GRID LM Prototypes / GT Vehicles for some time and will also gradually add the current models, stay tuned 😉

Installation Instructions :

extract the .rar file with WinRAR or similar unpacker and drop the track-folder into your GTR2\GameData\Locations\…directory – done.

Grass and Gravel Fix :

you will find in the Extras folder a file named “LeMans Grass and Gravel Fix.rar”. Use / install it only if you have problems / errors with displayed grass / gravel textures.

to install, extract the “LeMans Grass and Gravel Fix.rar” file and copy ALL included folders and .gfx files into your GTR2 main directory (X:\GTR2\…) – allow to overwrite all existing folders / files with “YES ALL” – done.

    This is a long-“donkey” circuit. (I would say long-“ass” circuit instead — but using the suffix ‘-ass’ seems kind of worldly and ‘vulgar,’ don’t it? That’s why I prefer to use the suffix “-donkey” in lieu of “-ass.”).

    The circuit design itself is okay; in some ways it kind of reminds me of the OLD Germany Hockenheim circuit — though THIS “Le Mans” circuit is clearly superior and funner to drive — and much more varied in terms of chicanes, etc.

    The textures and graphics seem could be improved don’t seem particularly ‘high-resolution. Tree/foilage color is dark and dense — but these textures are also very ‘grainy’…

    This is awesome! Thx so much for your work. This is a musthave and also a worthwhile update for this legend track! Nice! Now all I want is the Bugatti “Chiron” to take it for a ride out there… 😉

    You may add in the description that installing SRPL shader pack is mandatory for working grass fix.

      must the folder SRPL_ShaderPack and the .gfx files be placed in the GTR2 main folder?

      I have not tested the fix because everything is displayed correctly. I have now added the fix with the original structure and updated the description, hope that fits now.

        Yes, the folder SRPL_ShaderPack & *.gfx files should be placed in GTR2 root folder.

          And all .gmt & .dds files from GrassFix folder must be placed in LeMans_2017 main folder.
