Track Infos from Wikipedia :

The Autodromo dell’Umbria is a 2.507 km (1.558 mi) long automobile and motorcycle circuit placed in Magione, Umbria (Italy). The circuit was created in the early 1970s by the will of a group of friends.

The construction of the complex began in 1972 on behalf of some motorsport enthusiasts (namely Lorenzo Rondini, Giulio Capolsini, Umberto Mannocchi, Paolo Bietoloni, Gianni Moretti, Francesco Terradura and Giuseppe Tarpani), who had already formed the team “Scuderia Carpine” together. The original track had a length of 1650 meters and was a narrow and technical route. The opening of the course took place on April 23, 1973. Regularly both Formula 3 races, as well as motorcycle races were held on what was called the track then, Autodromo di Magione. End of the 1970s, the track was offered by Scuderia Carpine for financial reasons for sale. A consortium, led by the “Automobile Club Perugia”, bought the plant and renamed it Autodromo dell’Umbria. Mario Umberto Borzacchini, one of the most famous Italian racers of the 1920s and 1930s, was honored in the name of Umbria.

In 1986 the track was rebuilt. A kart track was added, which was not used since 1990 because it was considered too dangerous and too fast. After that, the track was rebuilt again in the 1990s. The safety standards have been increased and the grandstands enlarged. In addition, the pits were renewed in addition to various other changes. The most important change was probably the extension of the track to its current distance of 2507 meters.

On April 13, 1998, Sandro Corsini was killed in a Formula Junior race. On April 26, 2008 Giovanni Olivieri died in a motorcycle race of Coppa Italia Stock 600 deadly.

Starting in the 1980s until 2010, the Henry Morrogh Racing Drivers School used the track. A well-known visitor to this school was the eventual Indy 500 winner and Formula 1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve.

In 2014 and 2015, one round of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series took place on the course.

Today, mainly national motorcycle and automobile races are held on the track.

GTR2 Version :

– Updated road textures
– 3d people and audience
– Fixed skyboxi (it was set wrong in the original track…no more “cutting” surrounding mountains)
– Animated marshalls
– Rain reflections
– AIW done from scratch
– Time trial enabled
– Working safety car
– Rolling starts enabled

Known bugs:

There were a couple of “holes” in the original track (located at the beginning and exit of pits).
I have surrounded those holes with several fences.
